One Year Anniversary of harper's Majority

Just because the sky is still blue and harper's signature hasn't been found on a memo ordering the physical extermination of the First Nations, it doesn't mean he's been transformed into a respectable politician.

It's very simple: Parliament is the place where we, the people of Canada, are said to govern ourselves through our representatives. harper is documented as displaying nothing but contempt for the institution. he is an anti-democracy thug.

There's also evidence (for anyone with eyes to see it) that harper's ban of cretins are massively incompetent managers of the economy. This is their supposed area of expertise, which partially justifies acquiescence to their thuggery.

People like John Ibbitson, who try to write as if harper is some sort of genuine democratic leader only contribute to their continued moral and intellectual irrelevance. harper has renounced forever any right to govern over us. All of his supporters are only laying the evidence for why we can ignore them in the future.

If nothing else, harper has shown what the country will tolerate in terms of corruption and incompetence. Such a long list of ministers who should have been gone, Toews, McKay, Oda, Bernier,,,,all still have jobs which says a lot about the lack of integrity of this government. The larger problem is their far reaching control into provincial and municipal politics, Ford and the Christy Clark mess in BC are just but two examples.

BC Waterboy,

We are well and truly within US-American level depths of sham democracy now.

Again though, all the enablers of this travesty have exposed themselves as unworthy of our concern for their views.

When the reckoning comes, and come it will, they will be brushed aside ... especially their feeble, hypocritical bleating protests.

For sure they are "incompetent managers". Harper and his most incompetent Cabinet did not come from successful corporate careers. In fact, if there are any who did work as high ranking executives, they probably the type of scoundrels that SNC-Lavalin is currently dealing with. The best they hope to attain is handsome post-political career perks from their corporate buddies.

Canada has a shameful history of coddling our corporate criminals.

This whole country needs a sweeping-out. All these parasites have to go.

methinks you understate the problem, at least in the failing empire to the south there is the merest semblance of "checks and balances." Harper ruled like a dictator with a minority, now with his stolen pseudo majority, he is insufferable and doesn't deserve to breathe, much less govern!
