As their policies fail, elites tell us "un-serious" plebs to be patient. Zero inflation was going to make everything better (because restaurants would save money not having to update their menu prices all the time or something stupid like that), "free-trade" deals were going to make us all happy, ... no, deficit reduction, no, busting unions, .... whatever.
Just be patient as you work two part-time jobs and go deeper in debt to just stand still.
Afghanistan? Ten years isn't long enough. Be patient. It's going to take a lot of hard work.

And don't forget - *we* have to make sacrifices in order to keep the budget of our government balanced, whereby we must *never* go into deficit for (gasp!) social "entitlements", but must always be ready to accept going into deficit to help out the poor banks, corporations and, especially, the already wealthy.
Because you see - we exist to serve their interests.
Not the other way around, mind you.
